Lovelady Shield has been used as a venue for marriage ceremonies and receptions for a number of years and has prided itself on being a very special place for what is arguable one of the most important events of a lifetime.

We are a small country house hotel where you can have exclusive use of the property for the weekend. We can accommodate upto 27 guests in the house and can arrange for any more guests to stay at hotels or guest houses within a very short distance. Why not start the celebrations with the arrival of friends and relatives for an informal get together the night before? Then wake refreshed for the ceremony (which can be held in the gazebo in the garden, weather permitting, or in the lounge.) followed by a four-course wedding breakfast served in our award winning restaurant by our Master Chef, Barrie Garton.

We will take care of everything. The pressure is then off you, which allows you to enjoy your day as it unfolds.

Our service includes help with the menu and wine selection, provision of flowers, favours for the table and , perhaps, most importantly of all, a toast master who will ensure everything goes smoothly and will guide you through the day. He will also arrange to visit you at home to help compose those always-difficult speeches.

Nothing will be over-looked or forgotten. After all it is one of the most important days of your life. It is therefore essential that you have absolute trust in your venue.

Our rates are from £6000.

This includes exclusive hire of the hotel for two days, accommodation for upto 27 guests based on bed and breakfast for two nights, four course dinner on the first evening  and a four course wedding breakfast for upto 40 guests. The wedding breakfast will include a welcome aperitif, four course meal designed to suit your tastes, together with coffee. Wine and champagne for the toasts is also included.

Flowers for the tables and favours are also included together with the personal service of a toastmaster.
